Does circumcision hurt?

There is usually no significant pain during the circumcision procedure, but mild pain may occur after the procedure. Circumcision is a common surgical operation. Avoiding strenuous exercise and sexual stimulation for 1 week after surgery can help reduce pain symptoms.

Keep the wound clean and dry after surgery, and use antibiotic ointment as directed by your doctor to prevent infection. Wear loose-fitting cotton underwear to reduce friction and avoid standing or walking for long periods of time. If fever, wound oozing or severe pain occurs, follow-up consultation is required in a timely manner. Most patients' pain basically disappears 2 weeks after surgery, and it takes 4-6 weeks for the wound to heal completely.
