Most routine physical examination packages include transaminase testing, which is one of the most basic and core indicators in liver function screening.
Take the annual welfare physical examination and employment physical examination of the unit that we usually come into contact with the most. Even if it is a free basic health screening arranged by the community for people over 60 years old, as long as the liver function item is included in the package, the first two items listed are usually alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase. Their status is almost the same as white blood cells and hemoglobin in the blood routine, and they are "must-have items" for liver function screening.
Of course, not all "routine physical examinations" include this item. I met a courier guy who came to the outpatient clinic for a supplementary examination before. He said that the recruitment physical examination done by a third-party agency on their website only cost 50 yuan. It only measured blood pressure, chest X-ray, and blood routine. It didn't even touch on liver function, so naturally there was no transaminase test. He had been feeling weak recently and had a dull feeling in the right lower abdomen, so he came here specifically to do liver function alone.
The reason why this project is so valued is that its "cost-effectiveness" is so high - transaminase is an "exclusive marker" that exists in liver cells. As long as the liver cells are slightly damaged, it will disperse into the blood and be detected, whether it is pathological diseases such as hepatitis, fatty liver, or cirrhosis. Liver damage can be caused by temporary physiological fluctuations such as staying up all night the day before, drinking half a catty of white wine, and taking antibiotics for a week. A few dozen yuan can help people check for most risks of liver damage. Routine physical examinations with a slightly more reasonable configuration will not cut it off.
Many people have asked me before, saying that it is not required to check for hepatitis B in the physical examination before employment, and is it not allowed to check liver function test as well? In fact, these are two different things. Testing transaminases only assesses your current liver function status and does not involve privacy screening for infectious diseases such as hepatitis B. Therefore, whether it is for employment or general physical examination, routine configuration is now allowed. By the way, if you find out that the transaminase is only twenty or thirty times higher than the reference value, don’t panic. First, recall whether you stayed up late or drank too much in the week before the physical examination. Most of the time, after you have had enough rest, it will fall back to the normal range after the reexamination. You may scare yourself, but it will also affect the indicators.
