Firstly, the second- and third-level psychological counselor professional qualification certificates obtained by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security in 2017 and before can be checked in the "China Personnel Examination Network-Certificate Verification" section; secondly, the basic training certificate for psychological counselors of the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, which is currently the most recognized in the industry, can be verified through the score inquiry channel of the "Basic Training Program for Psychological Counselors of the Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Official Website".

Psychological counseling score inquiry portal

I just checked the scores last week for Xiao Lin, the student who led the class last year. The little girl fell into a trap when she searched for the first time and clicked on one of the top advertising links. As soon as she entered her ID number, a pop-up window appeared saying "Your score failed, you can pay to apply for a review and change the score."

Many people are confused about which entrance they should go to to check their certificate. In fact, the logic of judgment is very simple: if you took the test before 2017 and the cover of the certificate says "Professional Qualification Certificate of the People's Republic of China", then you must go to the entrance of the Personnel Examination Network and enter your name, ID number and verification code. Directly check the results and certificate validity; if you took the exam in recent years and the certificate is signed with the official seal of the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, just go to the official project website. Generally, the inquiry will be open about 30 days after the end of the exam. Enter the admission ticket number and ID number to see the scores. A score of 60 or above is considered qualified. In addition, there are many psychological counseling-related certificates issued by other associations and vocational skills appraisal centers on the market. The corresponding query entrances are their respective official platforms. You must confirm this with the formal institution you signed up for in advance, and do not click on unofficial links that are unfamiliar to you.

Speaking of this, I have to mention a topic that has been quarreling in the industry for several years: Is it necessary to check the results of these non-qualification training certificates? Many academic college psychology teachers feel that there is no unified psychological counseling qualification examination in the country. The scores of various training certificates can only prove that you have completed dozens of hours of theoretical courses, but it does not mean that you can take on individual cases for consultation. There is no point in spending time worrying about the level of your scores. It is better to focus more on personal experience and saving supervision hours. However, many colleagues who open consulting rooms feel that the first step in recruiting novice consultants now is to check whether they have proof of formal training. The scores that can be found through official channels are the most basic threshold. If you cannot show this, you will not even be given an interview opportunity. Both statements are actually reasonable. Essentially, everyone has different understandings of the "standards for entry into the psychological counseling industry", and there is no absolute right or wrong.

I encountered an even more outrageous thing in the past two years. A young man came to ask me and said that the score for the psychological counselor certificate he took was 89 on the website of the registration agency. When he wanted to apply for our practical class, we went to the corresponding official platform to check, and there was no record of his score at all. Later, I found out that the institution had created a fake inquiry website, and the scores were filled in casually. The purpose was to make the students feel that they had done well in the exam and continue to sign up for their "practice recommendation class" worth tens of thousands of dollars. In the end, the young man called the police and got half of the money back.

Don’t think this kind of thing is far away from you. Every year during the exam season, I encounter three or four people asking about score changes or pheasant certificate inquiries. In fact, the method of identification is very simple: anyone who asks you to spend extra money to check or change your scores is a scammer; if the query entrance is not an officially sponsored domain name, such as one with a bunch of garbled suffixes and jumping to a third-party advertising page, just exit directly. The information needed when checking scores is nothing more than an ID number, a reserved mobile phone number, and at most an admission ticket number. If you lose your admission ticket, go directly to the academic affairs office of the registration institution to get it. They have it archived in their system, so there is no need to fill in a bunch of personal information on an unfamiliar website.

I have been training as a psychological counselor for almost 6 years. To be honest, score query is really the least technical step in the entire certification process. Many people fall into the trap because they don’t know what certification they are taking when they sign up at the beginning, and pay the money in a confused way. In the end, they don’t even have a formal query channel. If you are really not sure where to look for your certificate, take a picture of your certificate cover and ask a regular industry practitioner. It will be much more effective than searching blindly for two hours online.
