Salt hot compress for uterine fibroids
Patients with uterine fibroids can use salt hot compresses appropriately, but they need to pay attention to temperature control and duration of use. Salt hot compress mainly relieves uncomfortable symptoms such as lower abdominal distension by improving local blood circulation, but it cannot reduce the size of fibroids.
The temperature of salt hot compress should be maintained at 40-50 degrees Celsius to avoid scalding the skin. Stir-fry the coarse salt and put it into a cotton bag, and apply it on the lower abdomen across clothing, for 15-20 minutes each time, no more than 2 times a day. Hot compresses may temporarily relieve the dull pain caused by uterine contractions and have a certain effect on the symptoms of increased menstrual bleeding or dysmenorrhea. If skin redness or burning occurs during hot compress, stop immediately.
When uterine fibroids exceed 5 cm or are accompanied by severe anemia or frequent urination, the effect of simple hot compress is limited. Submucosal fibroids or fibroid degeneration may cause abnormal bleeding, and hot compresses may worsen symptoms. Postmenopausal fibroids that grow rapidly or are accompanied by persistent pain need to be alert to the possibility of malignant transformation and should avoid self-treatment with hot compresses.
It is recommended that B-ultrasound be reviewed regularly to monitor changes in fibroids, and iron supplements can be used for patients with anemia. Avoid taking estrogen-containing health products on a daily basis and maintain moderate exercise. If you experience prolonged menstruation, a sudden increase in menstrual flow, or severe abdominal pain, you should seek medical attention promptly to evaluate whether surgical intervention is needed.
