A new study finds that for people over 65 elderly For example, whether it is brisk walking, skating, swimming, riding a bicycle, or jogging, it doesn't matter even if you only exercise once a week, because people who exercise once a week live 40% longer than those who never exercise.

Researchers in Stockholm, Sweden, pointed out that people who exercise once a week have similar benefits to those who exercise hard and regularly. Exercising in your spare time can reduce mortality from all causes for men and women over 65 years old. Those who exercise twice a week or do strenuous exercise at least twice a week have the same reduction in mortality from all causes as those who exercise once a week. Even occasional exercise can reduce mortality by 28%. Exercise includes walking for an hour, skating a few times a year, swimming or picking.

So the researchers suggest that senior care centers and doctors should encourage older adults to move more, even just occasionally.
