At present, there is no national entry-level professional qualification for "sleep health manager" in China. The application requirements for this are really not something you can apply for by paying money. I previously helped two nurses in our organization apply for the intermediate level, but they were stuck with work experience: for the entry level, they must have been engaged in related work such as sleep health, public health, nursing, and psychological counseling for a total of one year, or they must be related to health, medicine, or psychology. Those with a professional technical secondary school degree or above can apply; the intermediate level requires 3 years of relevant work experience after obtaining the junior certificate, or a college degree or above in a related major and 2 years of working experience; the advanced requirements are higher, and requires 4 years after the intermediate certificate. Many novices who have never been exposed to this industry cannot apply at all.

Oh, yes, you must be curious about why so many institutions on the Internet boast that "you can apply after you turn 18"? What they are talking about is not this kind of grade certificate at all, but a training completion certificate issued by their own institution or an industry association. To put it bluntly, it proves that you have taken relevant courses. Some institutions do not even check your high school diploma. You can sign up by paying and will send you a gold-stamped certificate half a month after the exam. It looks like the same thing. If you really want to apply for a job at a public hospital sleep center or a formal physical examination institution, people will know at a glance that it is useless and will not recognize it at all.

Many people on the Internet now say that this certificate is all an IQ tax, but in fact it cannot be beaten to death with a stick. I have a friend who is a parenting blogger. He is not from a related field, so he signed up for a system course at a formal institution and took a training certificate. He usually teaches fans about infant sleep adjustment. He has a thorough understanding of CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) and the logic of sleep rhythms at different ages. The methods he shared are useful to fans. She has no intention of working in the system. This certificate is a proof of learning experience for her, which is completely sufficient. But if you want to work in a professional organization, you must take the grade certificate from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. This is not negotiable.

Many people always ask "Can I take the exam if I am not a major" before applying for the exam? There is really no need to worry too much about this threshold. If you are just adjusting your family's sleep, or doing popular science content, even if you don't do research, it is enough to understand the sleep stages in the course and the sleep intervention programs for different groups of people. If you really want to take the exam, don’t transfer money to the institution right away. Ask three questions first: What is the issuing unit? Can it be found on the Skilled Talent Evaluation Network? Are there any work experience or academic qualification requirements for applying? Apply again if you really meet the requirements to avoid wasting money.
