In fact, there is no "best" option that applies across the country. Priority is given to postpartum rehabilitation departments in local public tertiary hospitals and regular public maternal and child health hospitals. If you have high requirements for service privacy and flexibility, you can also choose a specialized obstetrics and gynecology hospital with formal medical qualifications. The key is not to choose a lifestyle beauty institution without a medical license.
Several mothers around me have fallen into this trap. Last year, a mother in the same neighborhood gave birth to twins. She suffered from urinary leakage and 3 finger separation of the rectus abdominis. At first, she believed in the "pelvic repair package" from a maternal and child store downstairs. She spent more than 30,000 yuan on it for two months, but the leakage was not cured and still hurt. I didn't dare to sit, so I went to the postpartum rehabilitation department of the city's maternal and child care department. The doctor first performed an ultrasound of the pelvic floor muscles and an evaluation of the rectus abdominis muscles, and customized a plan of electrical stimulation and home training. After 5 treatments, the leakage was basically gone, and the rectus abdominis muscles had returned to within 1 finger after two months of reexamination.
Of course, that doesn’t mean you can’t choose a private hospital. My cousin gave birth to her first child last month and is prone to allergies. People queued up for a long time at public hospitals, and she had no one to help take care of the baby. It was too troublesome to carry a lot of things every time she went to the hospital. So she chose a local private obstetrics and gynecology hospital that has been open for almost ten years. After checking in advance, their rehabilitation therapists are certified and have formal medical qualifications. Although a single treatment is twice as expensive as a public hospital, there is no need to queue, and there is a dedicated nurse every time. The recovery is also smooth.
Nowadays, many people are arguing on the Internet, saying that public schools are too crowded and the services are not good, and private schools are too expensive and easy to get cheated. Some people say that there is no need to go to the hospital and you can practice at home. In fact, these opinions are reasonable but they are also too absolute. If you only have a mild separation of 1 to 2 fingers in the rectus abdominis and do not have any discomfort such as urinary leakage or lower abdominal distension, you can first do Kegel and abdominal breathing exercises at home under the guidance of a rehabilitation specialist in a regular hospital, which will save time and cost. ; But if you already have obvious organ prolapse, urinary leakage, rectus abdominis separation of more than 2 fingers, or there are problems with the wound healing from cesarean section, don’t save that much time and money. Give priority to going to a public tertiary hospital. Doctors have seen many cases and are not easy to make detours.
When making your choice, don’t just look at the advertisements that say “restore pre-pregnancy waist circumference in 7 days” and “solve pelvic floor muscle problems in one go”. Postpartum recovery is inherently a slow process, and everyone’s basic situation is different. Doctors in regular hospitals will not give you a chest shot to guarantee how long it will take to fully recover. When you encounter the kind of people who will offer you a package worth tens of thousands of dollars right away, be more careful. Check their medical institution license first, and then ask the local pregnant mother group for real feedback. The chance of being scammed is much smaller.
