The mental health B certificate we often refer to is actually the B-level qualification certificate for mental health education teachers in primary and secondary schools organized by the provincial education departments. The most direct use is as a necessary admission certificate for full-time psychological teachers in public primary and secondary schools in many provinces in China. It must be used in conjunction with the psychology teacher qualification certificate. In many areas, this certificate is stuck in the first review of psychological recruitment, and without it, you will not even be eligible to apply. However, the "usefulness" of this certificate has very clear boundaries. Many people complain that they have been cheated after taking the exam because they did not understand its scope of application in advance. It is not a nationally certified qualification. Each province organizes its own training and assessment. The certificate is only recognized within the education system of the province. To put it bluntly, it is like a local "temporary industry pass". It will most likely not be recognized outside the province. For example, if you take the B certificate in Hunan and go to Jiangsu to find a job as a psychology post in primary and secondary schools, the local schools will basically only recognize the mental health training qualifications organized by the province. The time and money spent before will be wasted. If you have no intention of entering the primary and secondary school system and want to work in social psychological counseling or child psychological intervention, this certificate is almost useless. Institutions in society recognize qualifications such as psychological counselor professional skill level certificates and registered system psychologists. The B certificate is not even a stepping stone. I used to know a teacher who does children's emotional intelligence training. I heard that this certificate was very valuable, so I spent more than 2,000 to apply for the training exam. After getting the certificate, I went to my boss for a salary increase, but the boss didn't even look at it. He said that it would be better to get a certificate related to family education guidance, which would be more helpful at work.

To put it bluntly, whether you want to take this certificate depends entirely on your future career plans. If you are sure that you want to do psychology-related work in the primary and secondary school system of this province, there is absolutely no harm in taking the exam early. If you haven’t made a clear direction yet, there is no need to rush to spend time and energy to join in the fun.
